Four Corners - Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia

To get to Botswana from Zambia, we crossed the wide Zambesi River in a motor launch. This is the only place in the world whether the borders of four countries come together.  You're standing in Zambia, to the right is Zimbabwe, straight ahead is Botswana and to the left is Namibia.

There was also a ferry there and about a dozen trucks waiting on the Zambia side to cross.  As we reached the Botswana side, there was a long line of transports - I'm going to say about 2 kilometers.

The ferry takes one truck at a time.  One. Truck. At. A. Time.

We were told trucks could wait up to a couple of months.  That seems like an exagerration, but several days seems pretty likely.  you can read about the problems of inland transportation in Africa all you want, but that truck line-up brought the point home most thoroughly for me.
